Beschreibung:

Silver gelatin photograph, approx. 9 x 7 in. (sight) matted, 13.25 x 10.5 in., featuring golf legend Bobby Jones relaxing with contemporaries at a golf club (possibly East Lake Golf Club), signed and inscribed, "For Horace Love / With best regards / Sincerely / Bob Jones," with "BJ. 6. #4" written in the negative at lower right. Another golfer pictured strongly resembles Ben Hogan, considered one of the best golfers of all time. Robert Tyre Jones, Jr. (1902-1971) was an American amateur golfer who amazed the world with his 1930 Grand Slam, winning the four major tournaments of his era, including both U.S. and U.K. open and amateur championships. Though Jones achieved monumental success on the golf course, he made his living as a lawyer in his father's firm. Retiring from golf at the age of 28, Jones maintained his presence in the sport by instructing other golfers, designing equipment, co-founding the Masters Tournament in 1932, and founding and helping design the Augusta National Golf Club in 1933. Lot also includes notarized letter of authenticity from James Spence Authentication, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Condition: Image in good condition, with some soiling to surface; mat with water discoloration throughout and wear at edges including partial separation and light paper loss.
