GRABHORN PRESS -- Original Leaves from the First Four Folios of the Plays of William Shakespeare, 1623, 1632, 1663, 1685 . San Francisco: Grabhorn Press for David Magee, 1935. 2° (369 x 240mm). Printed in red black, an original leaf from each of the four folios tipped in, facsimiles of the titles of the four folios. Original red quarter morocco with marbled board sides, black label on spine (very slightly rubbed). An out of series trial copy with a pencilled note at end by David Magee explaining the limitation and that this is the first copy to be bound with another note on front free endpaper by David Magee repeating that this is the first bound copy. The original leaves are as follows: first folio, Merchant of Venice , pp.163-64: second folio, The Life of King Henry the Eight , pp.215-16: third folio, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet , pp.649-50: fourth folio, The Life and Death of Richard the Third , pp.198-99.
