The following lots come with excellent pedigree and with the knowledge that they have been cellared with the ultimate care and attention. Recently removed catalogued and removed from a perfect private cellar by Christie's specialists Richard Brierley Grands Echézeaux--Vintage 1966 Côte de Nuits, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Bottles numbered 00109, 00111, 00112, 00113, 00114 Frederick Wildman importer strip labels Levels: one 3.5cm, one 4cm and three 4.5cm; excellent appearance, In original wooden case "This is perhaps the finest example that I have ever had of Grands Echézeaux and it towers over the 750 ml. As with its "little" brother, the nose is explosive and spectacularly complex with a stunning mixture of spice, earth, caramel and definite sous bois notes that lead to sweet, velvety, wonderfully rich and beautifully textured flavors that possess outstanding length. The balance is near perfect and it wasn't even necessary to drink this to enjoy it as the nose is dazzling in every respect. In short, knee bending." BH, March 12, 2005 5 magnums per lot
