Group of Tinplate Fairground and Similar Clockwork Toys, comprising: 1) Ferris Wheel. Maker unconfirmed, probably German. Circa 1930’s. Colourfully tin printed in red and cream with detailed images of clowns, children etc. Fixed key clockwork motor rotates wheel and rings bell. Working when tested. Height 9.5”/24cm. Good. 2) Joseph Wagner (West Germany) Flying Boats x2. Each toy has four suspended on chains boats rotating round a tinplate globe. Mechanisms defective. Height 7.5”/19cm. 3) Rocket Ships (West Germany). Three rockets rotating round a bright tin printed globe. Lver wind mechanism working when tested. Height 4.5”/11.5cm. Excellent. 4) Yone (Japan) Rocket ride. Two rockets rotating round a central building with ringing bell. Clear plastic tops reveal tin printed interior detail, including passengers. Working when tested. Width 5.5”/14cm. Damage to securing loops on plastic roofs, otherwise Good. 5) Aircraft and Rotating Globe: West German toy featuring two aircraft with celluloid propellers rotating round a tin-printed half-globe. Lever operated mechanism working when tested. Width 19”/48cm. Good Plus to Excellent. 6) “Mechanical Lighthouse” (West Germany). Featuring three aircraft with celluloid propellers rotating round a detailed tin printed lighthouse. Mechanism needs attention. Height of lighthouse 6”/15cm. Good Plus for display with Poor illustrated box. 7) Kohler (Germany) Tinplate Globe on plastic base. Appears to lack a satellite or similar rotating feature, otherwise Good. Clockwork motor working when tested. Height 4.25”/11cm. (8)
