Very rare jocular guide to the Alaska/Canada gold region, how to get there and what to do when you do get there. Probably best not to rely too much upon the guide, except as an amusing diversion. We found no listings for it in OCLC. We did find one other publication from J. King James of Santa Cruz, residing at the American Antiquarian Society. It is "Saved by an Alligator," dated "1896-1898?", with James listed as the author as well as publisher. It is listed as "Star Series No. 4", and classified as a Juvenile. The OCLC description reads in part: "Publisher James King James (1884-1952) also published The Star Story Book ca. 1896-1898. James eventually worked as a professional printer before becoming a civil engineer." So young James was about 14 years old when he created this marvelous little book. It is a gem.
