Title: Hardy Bulbs Including Half-Hardy Bulbs and Tuberous and Fibrous-Rooted Plants Author: Grey, Charles Hervey Place: London Publisher: Williams & Norgate Ltd. Date: [1937-1938] Description: 3 volumes. Color plates and black and white drawings by Cecily Grey. 9½x6, green gilt-lettered cloth, top edges of Vols. 1 and 3 stained green, dust jackets. Beautifully illustrated by the wife of the author, this three volume set might have been titled "Hady Petaloid Monocotyledons," according to the author's preface, had it not seemed a potentially discouraging title, scaring off the gardener or botanist from picking up the book. Lot Amendments Condition: Jacket spines browned, lightly creased and worn edges with a few short tears, Vol. 1 spine with sticker; ink inscription and rubber stamp to endpapers of Vol. 2 (ex-library); else very good overall. Item number: 204235
