Do you think the Turkey's cooked enough? signed 'HELEN BRADLEY' and with fly insignia (lower right), and inscribed '"Do you think the Turkeys cooked enough," said/Aunt Mary, sticking the fork in it, "of course it/is," said Aunt Frances, "everybodys ready and/waiting, so I'm going to serve the vegetables"/George and I watched Aunt Mary slice through/the crispy brown skin and pile up the delicious/slices of breast. This was Christmas Day and the/first time we had ever tasted Turkey, because/Turkeys didn't live in our cold northern/village on the edge of miles of wild moorland./This Turkey was sent by special carrier from Grandpa/at Blackpool with a note wishing us all a Happy/Christmas, and it was a Happy Christmas. Even/Old John Henry enjoyed it. He was usually rather/sad because he had nobody to look after him./This Happy Day was Christmas 1907.'
