Tobias and the Angel ('The Large Tobias') (Duthuit, Bartsch, Hollstein 2)
Hendrik Goudt (1583-1648) after Adam Elsheimer (1578-1610) Tobias and the Angel ('The Large Tobias') (Duthuit, Bartsch, Hollstein 2) etching and engraving, 1613, a very good impression with excellent contrasts, the guide lines and vertical polishing scratches in the text still visible, with a Coat of Arms under Coronet with Pendant Initials PP watermark, possibly Rampant Lion (similar to Haewood 3135), trimmed on the platemark above and below and inside the platemark at the sides, retaining a 3 mm. margin outside the subject at left and right, in very good condition; with Tobias and the Angel ('The Little Tobias') (D., B., Holl. 1) by the same hand, second state (of three), with letters but before the retouches, a fair impression S. 256 x 262 mm. (2)
