Palmer, discussing the Society of Authors: "I do not see how I can interfere. I am bound not to interfere with the Society's routine unless there are special circumstances; and unfortunately there are none;" a four-page autograph letter by William Holman Hunt signed with initials, from Draycott Lodge, Fulham, S.W., April 30th, 1885, to "My dear old Comrade," consoling the recipient that he has had similar health problems, attacking the Royal Academy and discussing his work: "I shall not have much opportunity of proving how far greater a painter I am than the...world has ever allowed me to prove myself to be so far;" other autograph letters include those by Frederick Marryat Edward Poynter, Joseph Chamberlain John Everett Millais Willaim Frith and Bernard Partridge clipped signatures include those by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Èmile Zola, George III, William IV, Queen Victoria (including an autograph envelope signed with initials), the Duke of Wellington, William Pitt Jenny Lind and Louis Wain.
