A Hepplewhite chest of drawers in cherry with poplar secondary, having a rectangular top above four graduated and dovetailed drawers, the scratchbeaded fronts fitted with brass patriotic pulls and inlaid kite-shaped escutcheons, over a strip of beading and a shaped skirt, all rising on French feet; ht. 42.25, wd. 36.75, dp. 19.75 in. Provenance: Property from the Estate of Maxwell Mitchell Leichardt, Bowling Green, KY Condition: Surface wear and imperfections as would be expected with age and use, including some light stains and scratches to top. Sides of case with some splits and repairs. Some splits and separations to skirt. Rear feet brackets probably replaced. Pulls replaced. Retains interior lock mechanisms.
