The elaborate engraved title with foliated woodcut border, Castilian arms, vignettes of Aztec gods and Mexican scenes, and a cartouche at bottom with image of North and South America, constitutes the FIRST MAP TO SHOW CALIFORNIA AS AN ISLAND.
