Engraved title with horse vignette, and 20 engravings after Hunt of horses on 10 leaves, each with 24 June 1849 imprint, all with contemporary hand-colouring. (Spotted, corner crease in one leaf.) Contemporary black morocco gilt, horse vignettes on sides, gilt edges (extremities lightly worn). Provenance : Mr. Clark, of Bath, gift inscription from Mr. Pennington, August 1855. HORSES -- a collection of 149 engravings of horses by H.R. Cooke, J.H. Engelhart, J.R. Scott, J. Romney, J. Webb et al., after L. Marshall, F.C. Turner C. Tomson, J.F. Herring, J. Ferneley, et al. London: Pittman or Wheble, [1792-1834]. Oblong 8° (136 x 215mm). (Some light spotting, one mounted). 19th-century English half red morocco gilt, gilt edges (abrasions). Among the horses portrayed are those given by the Imam of Muscat to William IV, and others owned by Princess Charlotte, Lord Charles Kerr, Charles Bunbury and the Earl of Upper Ossery. (2)
