Yo Semite Valley: Published at the Old Cabin and at Pacific Press Publishing House, Oakland, California, 1886. 8vo (215 x 150 mm). Frontispiece portrait, 26 photographic plates, 1 folding map, and 152 in-text illustrations. Publisher's green cloth, upper cover and spine with mountain and tree motifs and lettered in gilt, lower cover with blindstamped bear. Condition: upper hinge lightly cracked; cloth rubbed with some fading to gilt. first edition with photographic plates depicting el capitan and other sites in the high sierras. Frontispiece in first state without the man in the cart or the lean-to against building.
