Title and woodcut device within the fine woodcut Bacchus border, 187 black-on-white medallion portraits, 76 roundels left blank, large woodcut device on last page (fore-margin of A7 restored with no loss, occasional light discolouration). 18th-century English calf, panels of flat spine and sides double-ruled in gilt, gilt edges (very rubbed). Provenance : Sir John Thorold's copy (Syston Park bookplate). Second edition. Not in Adams.
