ILLINOIS CRICKET ASSOCIATION. Cricket Annual [variant titles], edited by Karl Andre Auty. Chicago: 1935-1942, 1944. 9 volumes, 8° (204 x 139mm) and 4° (285 x 217mm). Plates and illustrations. Later cloth in various colours matching the original wrappers which are bound in (1935 to 1940), original blue printed wrappers (1941 onwards; these slightly soiled and discoloured). ILLINOIS CRICKET ASSOCIATION. Welcome! Australia: Souvenir Programme in Honor of the Visit of the Australian Cricket Team July 23-26, 1932. Chicago: 1932. 8°. With portraits of Alan Kippax, the Australian team, and Kippax and Bradman batting at Lord's. Original wrappers in Australian colours picturing a combat between eagle and kangaroo (fold marks). Padwick 5327. Auty, the mainstay of Chicago cricket at the time he was editing the annual, was a foremost authority on the game. He was responsible for the entry on cricket in Encyclopedia Britannica, though the article was signed off by H.S. Altham. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a nearly complete set of his Chicago annuals which contain much of interest about the game in the USA and elsewhere. The war years are particularly difficult to come by.
