Imperial Rome, Theodosius I (379-395), gold Solidus, North Italian Mint, c. 379-383, laureate bust right, rev Victory stands between two enthroned emperors, [VICT]OR-IA AVGG / COM (RIC IX, 77; Sear 4169). The coin has been crudely cut (in ancient times) from jewellery mount, gold solder shows on rev, but details clear. £150-250 The coin is a local find, ticket states "Found 1966 Wootton Bassett area, in cable trench".
