Jacques Barraband (1767/8-1809) Mauritius Parakeet (Plate no. 39, Perruche à Double Collier, Psittacula echo Sheet size 190 x 120 inches [500 x 315mm.]) As the name suggests this Parakeet is now restricted to Mauritius but was perhaps formerly resident on Réunion. It is one of the world's most endangered birds with the wild population being limited to between 15 and 20 birds in 1991. [ With :] Brown-throated Conure (Plate no. 37, Seconde varieté de la Peruche à front jaune, Aratinga pertinax . Sheet size 19¾ x 120 inches [502 x 320mm.]) A member of a group of 14 species or sub-species from the north of South America, central America and some Caribbean islands. Generally common, this Conure is usually found in flocks of from between 4 to 20 birds and often associates with the Yellow-crowned Amazon. (2)
