Jerome Connor (1874-1943) The Irish Mother Bronze, 30cm high (12'') high Literature : ''Jerome Connor'' by M?irin Allen The Capuchin Annual 1965 - a similar version illustrated from The Digby Collection. Exhibited : An example of this work is thought to have been included in the RHA Annual Exhibition 1943 Cat. No. 362 and in the Memorial Section to Jerome Connor of the first Irish Exhibition of Living Art cat. No. 20. Dermod O' Brien PRHA had a bronze of just the head section of this work and it was thought she represented ''The Mourning Mother'' and perhaps was one of the designs he considered for the Lusitania Memorial before fixing on ''The Mourning Fishermen'' which are now incorporated in the memorial in Cobh, Co. Cork.
