Printed menu from "Dinner / Given by / Frank Sinatra / In Honor Of /.../ John Fitzgerald Kennedy / Presidential Inaugural Gala." At the Statler Hilton, Washington, DC, Jan. 20, 1961. String-tied, 5.5 x 8.5 in. Two copies of the hotel's instructions and pricing for the dinner, each 3 pages mimeographed (purple) on legal-sized sheets, with instructions such as "Oyster and Clam Bar / (with attendant to freshly open) / ($25.00 for attendant)" and "Complete bar to be set up for the service of Cocktails and Highballs - PREMIUM BRANDS ONLY including Jack Daniels Bourbon - charged as consumed at bottle prices and added to the account." "Dom Perignon Champagne to be served from bar as well as passed on trays by waiters - charged as consumed $18.00 per bottle." "Cigarettes: 8 packs assorted popular brands to be placed loose in glasses at 30¢ per pack for Regulars and 35¢ for Filters." Much more. Four Western Union Telegrams with dates of 12 Jan. - 19 Jan. Each 5.5 x 8.5 in. (1) "Confirming Attendance of Gene Kelly Wife and daughter at exhibits A and B." [12 Jan 1961] (2) "Everything Sounds just Marvelous. Cant wait to see you all. Ruth, Milton and the 2 of us would like seats for the inaugural ceremony itself on the 20th see you soon. Janet and Tony." [Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis] [13 Jan 1961] (3) "Mrs. Bernstein and I plan to attend Ambassador Kennedys supper party the inaugural ceremonial and parade many thanks for making arrangements. Leonard Bernstein." [15 Jan. 1961] (4) Mr and Mrs Joseph P Kennedy would very much like you to come to their party following the gala on Thursday January 19 at Paul Youngs Restaurant 1120 Connecticut Avenue Washington DC....Ethel Kennedy (Mrs Robert F Kennedy). White House calling card with autopen "With best wishes, Richard Nixon." Printed 3 x 4 in. Apollo 11 card with facsimile signatures of the three astronauts (Neil Armstrong, Edwin ("Buzz") Aldrin and Michael Collins Postcard (color) with Boeing 707 "Spirit of '76," aka "Air Force One" when President is on board. Kennedy was the first to have a plane built for Presidential use in 1962, this modified Boeing 707. Zippo lighter (unused) with "Air Force One (707)" engraved in blue on one side; Presidential seal and facsimile signature "Lyndon B. Johnson" on the other side. Raytheon advertising ball point pen (unused) with Apollo 11 information on barrel: date, "One small step...." quote and astronaut names. Silver and blue barrel. Brushed gold ball point pen with facsimile signature of Patricia Nixon on barrel. Five (5) "LBJ" lapel pins. Two sets of playing cards: each with two packs of cards. One in shades of reds with "Air Force Two" and Vice Presidential seal with plane above. The other with "Spirit of '76," Presidential seal and facsimile signature of Richard Nixon in blue and white. Pin, 1.5 in. diam., with Mao Zedong and the "Great Hall of the People" on front, plastic. Condition: Much unused (cards, postcard, lighter, pens). Some paper folded, but still very good.
