The title cartouche is dedicated to Sir Peter Delme, a wealthy woollen merchant who was made Sheriff of London for 1717-1718 and elected Lord Mayor of London for 1723-1724. Two cornucopias, one of fruit and one of precious metal objects and jewels, allude the London's mercantile greatness, whilst at the base is a portrait of King George I, whose sword and sceptre are supported by two dragons.
