JOHNSON, LYNDON B. Photograph on an inscribed card mount, showing Lyndon Baines Johnson, author Robert Ruark, and a third man (unidentified), seated in conversation. Color photograph, mount inscribed in ink "To Bob Ruark/Whose perceptive views of the world keeps us all on our toes/Lyndon B. Johnson." Image area 7.5 x 9.5 inches (19 x 24 cm). Surface of image slightly age-crackled, extreme edges of image with several small losses. The inscription is slightly faded, and the mount is a little soiled, with brown paper from previous framing attached to the rear. Sold with a photograph of Bernard M. Baruch, framed, inscribed on mount to "Bob," "with affection and admiration...Bernard M. Baruch." Robert Ruark was the popular author of such works as Use enough gun and Uhuru. Despite his occasional caustic remarks on Texas, he clearly got on well enough with LBJ. Estate of Marilyn Kaytor
