JULES MASSENET (1842-1912); EDWARD ELGAR (1857-1934); HENRY WOOD (1869-1944); ETHEL SMYTHE (1858-1944) A head-and-shoulder portrait photograph of Massenet by H. Manny, with clipped signature and inscription pasted onto the mount: "à Madam Dexter Teayon, trés respectueux hommage, Massenet" (lightly spotted, crease through signature), 9½ x 6in., framed and glazed. With a one-page autograph letter, signed by Elgar, from St. James's Palace, [24th April 1930], to Mr. Davy Jones, sending a contribution towards a gift, with original autograph envelope sealed with wax monogram "E.E." A photograph of Henry Wood with clipped signature, in common mount and a postcard signed on the reverse: "Coign - home of Ethel Smythe and Pan IV," the face depicting Ethel Smythe's house and her dog Pan, further inscribed as above.
