Title: Kaddish for Naomi Ginsberg, 1894-1956, with two other related poems, White Shroud and Black Shroud Author: Ginsberg, Allen Place: San Francisco Publisher: Arion Press Date: 1992 Description: Introduction by Helen Vendler. Illustrated with lithograph portraits of the author & his mother by R.B. Kitaj. 12½x10, black & cream-green cloth envelope-style portfolio binding, titled in black on folding flap cover. No. 39 of 200 copies printed on T.H. Saunders mould-made paper. Signed by Ginsberg his "AH" mantra all in pencil o the half-title and signed by Kitaj on the portraits. Kaddish is considered by many to be Ginsberg's masterpiece. It was written in 1961, five years after his poem Howl had shocked the literary world & brought Ginsberg and the Beat Generation to prominence. Includes a specially printed note from the publisher about the binding, laid in. Lot Amendments Condition: Fine. Item number: 257711
