KATSUSHIKA HOKUSAI (1760-1849), illustrator : Toto shokei ichiran "Fine views of the eastern capital at a glance"; colophon dated Kansei 12 (1800), published by Tsutaya Juzaburo; fukurotoji-bon , 2 vols. complete (25.7 x 17.4 cm.), block printed in color, in original blue paper wrappers with printed gold and silver iris in stream designs, original paper title slip printed in black on buff (both quite worn), title as above, sewn, in chitsu ; very good impressions, good color, several pages lightly stained and several pages rubbed or slightly soiled or spotted, several pages with minute worming, vol. 2 wormed in margin Contents: Vol. l, 10 leaves, numbered on the hashira 1-10, single page introduction with large red seal in margin Kato Zosho (Kato library), 9 double page and one single page illustrations of various places in Edo with figures many at times of the year different from those usually depicted in sets of 'famous views'; vol. 2, 11 leaves, numbered on the hashira 11-19 and 21, single page illustration, 10 double page illustrations, colophon as above signed Hokusai Tatsumasa , signed by the engraver Ando Enshi (2)
