Condition A- / B+: small repaired tears and restoration at edges; repaired pin holes in corners; creases in image. A self-taught artist, Kuriyagawa began his own graphic design career in 1948. He is best remembered for his tourist posters promoting travel around Hokkaido (Japan's northernmost prefecture), but he also designed a poster for the Olympic games in Sapporo. He founded the Hokkaido Design Center and his work decorates some of the subway stations in Sapporo.
