Krug Collection 1985 Krug Collection 1985 Lots 100-101: Excellent level, good label, metal shield below foil tarnished, packed in presentation owc within oc Lots 102-105: Excellent level, good label, metal shield below foil tarnished, packed in presentation owc within plain carton, owc damp affected When I had this on Christmas Eve 2010, it was pure toast and marmalade, powerful, bone dry and yet honied - celestial mandarin orange juice. In 2012, it is superb, with the patina of the vintage. Figs and raisins, opulent and glittering. I just cannot get enough of this - a poorly-disguised plea if ever there were one! Serena Sutcliffe, MW Lot 100 1 bt (owc) Lot 101 1 bt (owc) Lot 102 1 bt (owc) Lot 103 1 bt (owc) Lot 104 1 bt (owc) Lot 105 1 bt (owc) per lot: GBP 400-500 per lot: USD 650-800 per lot: EUR 460-580 Few great wine collectors, even if they concentrate on red wines, bypass Krug Champagne. Its power and sheer vinosity appeal to a connoisseur of the greatest Bordeaux and Burgundy, and collectors have a tendency to preface their tastings and dinners with a glass of this majestic Reims "institution". Some go so far as to organise vertical tastings of Krug in its own right, recognising the unique properties of this Champagne in terms of development and maturity. Krug is the Rolls Royce of Champagnes. Serena Sutcliffe, MW LYING IN GREENFORD, MIDDLESEX Offered Duty Paid only Quantity: 1
