One half-page, 4to, integral blank leaf, a few small holes and repairs along fold , in French. "Monseiur de Gerando expressed to me his desire to obtain a catalogue of one of the circulating libraries intended for young artisans in the United States. Having found one for New York, I hasten to send it to him. He might find it heady nourishment for the present state of European civilization; it would thus be one more element enabling us to appreciate the difference between the institutions on the two shores of the ocean. Whatever the case, I beg him to send back the catalogue as soon as he will have taken from it what he wishes...".
