Landmann, George Thomas HISTORICAL, MILITARY, AND PICTURESQUE OBSERVATIONS ON PORTUGAL. LONDON: T. CADELL AND W. DAVIES, [1813]-1818 2 volumes, folio (371 x 262mm.), half-titles, 76 plates, comprising 14 engraved maps, hand-coloured in outline, 4 hand-coloured aquatints showing tortures of the Inquisition, 2 hand-coloured engraved plates of coins, and 56 hand-coloured aquatint views after Landmann, including 11 double-page or folding, the majority by J.C. Stadler, nineteenth-century red morocco gilt, covers with foliate and dentelle borders, spine gilt in compartments, triple fillet turn-ins, gilt edges, titles and preliminaries in both vol. spotted and appendix leaves in vol.2, some offsetting from plates onto text in vol.1, 1 plate in vol.2 slightly browned by silk marker, occasional spotting, pages xv-xvi of the introduction bound into vol.2
