Lot consists of: (A) Sporran with silver cantle engraved with acanthus leaves, triple ball finial, and double stamped on back "H. Morrison". Morrison is recorded as being a hatter in Glasgow in 1866. Horse hair covering, three tassels with tin coverings. Red Moroccan leather pouch. CONDITION: Good. Some of the horsehair is gone with age and revealing the backing. Tin has some traces of silver plating. Pouch is complete but torn at right side and at loop for leather strap with some crazing. (B) Quillwork baldrick, probably Scottish, with leather backing and red Moroccan leather interior. Central design of a stylized lion, other designs of florals. Brass clasp. Museum number "2199" on backing in white paint. CONDITION: Good. Some losses where clasp fastens to leather, crazing along backing. Quillwork has some minor missing pieces but does not detract from overall. (C) Dagger with blade that is triangular in cross section with engraved quillions and a wooden handle decorated with silver stars and strands of wire. Pommel depicts a thistle ball. Wooden sheath with silver throat and drag. Throat engraved with a sun with a face inside of a triangle with stars at three points. CONDITION: Good. Overall age staining and one strand of wire is missing from the grip, a few others are loose. (D) Flame bladed dagger with floral designs on blade and intertwining ribbons reading "Made & Mounted By John Moseley & Sons - London In Goodyear's Patent Protean". Right side of ricasso marked "Moseley / & Son". Lightly engraved brass quillion and ferrule. Gutta percha bird of prey and sheath with brass drag and throat with single stud. Sheath with floral designs in gutta percha. CONDITION: Very good, with no cracks or chips to the gutta percha. Brass as pleasing deep yellow patina with some gilding visible in protected areas. Qullion loose. (E) Colonial era silverware set in leather carrier comprising of a two tine fork enclosed in a tapered cylinder with punch dot designs and a solder seam, a two tine fork with thistle engraving and thistles on handle, a knife with thistle engraving and hallmarked with a key and thistles on handle, and a spoon with a Jacob Hurd silver hallmark on stem. "ET" engraved in rear of the stem towards top. CONDITION: Very good, with some minor tarnishing and evidence of use. Some of the stars on handles are loose or chipped, and there are few minor spots of oxidation. Leather is chipped and crazed but complete with tight stitching. (F) Contemporary Scottish horn with citrine mounted to base. CONDITION: Very good, complete, showing some light evidence of use. EW Name Value Paperwork
