LAURON, Marcellus (1679-1774, illustrator)]. The Cryes of the City of London . [London: no imprint, 1711?]. 2° (307 x 200mm). 73 unnumbered engraved plates only (of 74) by P. Tempest after Lauron, including two titles, titles and captions in English, French and Italian. (Many marginal tears and repairs, several plates with tears into image crudely-repaired on verso, second plate of 'The Famous Dutch Woman' badly damaged, final plate torn with near complete loss.) Early 19th-century half calf (lightly rubbed). Provenance : Thomas Philip, Earl de Grey (bookplate). Brunet III, 882, stating that first edition of 1711 is without Henry Overton's imprint and with plates unnumbered as in this copy; Colas 1793; Lipperheide GCb1; Vinet 2188.
