Joy Haffner Bailey is the neice of Lee's agent, Annie Laurie Williams. The dust jacket bears Truman Capote's famous appraisal of the novel: "Someone rare has written this very fine first novel: a writer with the livliest sense of life and the warmest, most authentic humor. A touching book; and so funny, so likeable."
