LEGION BOOK ARCHIVE]. A collection of approx. 250 autograph manuscripts, autograph letters signed, letters signed, and prints related to the production of the Legion Book with copies of both the limited and trade editions. Edited by Captain H. Cotton Minchin, the book was published to raise funds for the British Legion, whose patron was the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII). The Comptroller of the Household, Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey, invited seemingly every author and artist of note of the period to participate. The archive includes the replies to Halsey as well as subsequent correspondence addressed to Minchin. Housed in part in a small suitcase belonging to Minchin. Includes: BLUNDEN, EDMUND.
