Contemporary calf with gilt border, gilt title to red morocco lettering piece. Condition: some stains, edges scuffed. Provenance: Sotheby’s London, July 1986, lot 32, £1,100, Quaritch. A collection of 18th-century verses and documents in several hands, some signed, and occasional newspaper clippings. Mary Leigh’s husband, the Rev. Thomas Leigh of Adlesdrop, and his sister mrs. cassandra cooke (née Leigh) were children of jane austen’s great uncle Theophilus Leigh.
