1 pp. typed letter, signed, from George W. Cobb to Bobby Jones On Cobb's professional letterhead. 11x8½". Also present is an unsigned carbon copy of Jones' letter to Cobb. Cobb writes to Jones thanking him for a check and other matters. In full: "Dear Bob: Thank you very much for the generous check. This was certainly a nice thing for you to do as the drawings were your property. I was greatly honored to be associated with you on the project and will certainly be delighted to help on any further projects. Sports Illustrated did not send the drawings to me. I imagine they were returned to Ferris Mack at Doubleday as we sent them directly to him from our office here. The 17th hole at St. Andrews was mailed to you yesterday. This went out before I received your letter or I would have held it for further instructions after the moving of your offices. I am enclosing a sketch of the work we are doing at East Lake which shows the general character and new placement of the single greens, also the changing of lengths and parts of Nos. 4 and 5. I expect to be in Atlanta soon on the East Lake project and will be glad to see you then if there is anything further on the book you might require. Sincerely, George W. Cobb." Jones's letter of the prior day reads: "Dear George: I have now received payment for the piece in Sports Illustrated, and accordingly enclose my check for $450, in accordance with our agreement. It has been a great pleasure working with you on this and other matters. I look forward to continuing some of the same in the future. Incidentally, if the drawings used by Sports Illustrated were returned to you, I wish you would let me know. If it is not too inconvenient to you, I would like you to continue to hold them for a while, since we will soon be moving our offices. If Doubleday still has them, I should like to know. With best regards, Sincerely,".
