LONDON 1689 -- DANCKERTS, Cornelis. Cornyck of Stuarts Nootlot . Amsterdam, ca 1695. Oblong 8 o (148 x 190 mm). Engraved title and 57 plates by CORNELIS DANCKERTS (title slightly soiled). Modern boards. A picture history of Stuart Britain, from the death of the first (Bloody) Mary in 1558 to that in 1694 of the MARY II (1662-1694), Qeen regnant with WILLIAM III (1650-1702)--to whose joint exploits nearly half the volume is devoted. At the end of the volume are four fine untitled plates of triumphal arches erected at the time of William's visit to the Hague in 1691, as well as several plates depicting the festivities surrounding the Coronation of William III and Mary II--many of these are reduced versions after Schoonebeck (see lot 221).
