London: Samuel Speed, 1665. 4 o (205 x 142 mm). (Titlepage and several other leaves repaired, not affecting text, some edges uncut, minor tear in F2 not affecting text, small hole on F3 touching 2 letters). Panelled calf antique, gilt spine and cornerpieces. Presumed FIRST EDITION. Keynes states that two editions of Reflections were published in the same year. Based on John Graunt's Natural and political observations (see lot 477), and containing figures for deaths from the plague and from other causes for the years 1629-1665, with reflections on the repopulation of the city and recipes for the cure and prevention of the plague.
