Lot consists of: (A) "The Longest day: The Classic Epic of D-Day June 6, 1944" by Cornelius Ryan. The book is signed by approximately 135 veterans, most of whom served with the 29th Infantry Division and were present on Omaha Beach during the D-Day Landings on June 6, 1944. The book was signed during the 50th Anniversary of D-Day on June 6, 1994. Included in the book is a photograph of William Donald Schaefer and Captain James Sturgeon with the 29th Infantry Division symbol during the Anniversary. CONDITION: The book exhibits decent wear, probably from the exchanging of the hundreds of hands during the book's signing. The front and back covers are both faded and the edges exhibit slight bending. Some of the signatures in the book are faded but most are in good condition. (B) 50th Anniversary 29th Infantry Division D-Day Pen that was used by most of the veterans to sign the book. The pen does no show many blemishes and still functions.
