(A) The First Model German Pith Helmet is made of light tan canvas which exhibits dark patina and scattered spotting throughout the exterior. The leather rim band has cracks from age, and a few areas with tears. A set of Heer Shields, consisting of the Heer's Reichsadler and Tri-Color National Shield, are affixed to the helmet with three prongs bent over the helmets interior lining. The interior lining of the helmet is dark red with a light layer of dust settlement from storage. The helmets leather sweatband has deteriorated and separated from the felt lining. CONDITION: Good. (B) The Heer Infantry NCO Visor is made of a feldgrau tricot wool which has developed a light patina, and a few moth nips throughout. The white wool piping of the visor signifies Infantry. The visors Wehrmacht Adler emblem is missing, as well as the chinstrap, and chinstrap retaining buttons. The black lacquered bill of the visor exhibits light cracks from age, and nice checkering on the underside. The helmets lining is constructed from an orange colored oil cloth. The rhomboid celluloid sweatshield is surprisingly intact. The visors leather sweatband has become deteriorated with areas that have become unstitched from the cap, as well as a few smaller sections missing. CONDITION: Good.
