Text in English and French, 18 aquatint plates by William Pickett after Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg hand-coloured by John Clark. (Some mainly marginal staining touching image of one plate, a few spots.) Contemporary red morocco-backed boards, later photographic portrait of de Loutherbourg tipped onto front free endpaper (extremities rubbed, scuffed). FIRST EDITION, without the frontispiece added later. Abbey Scenery 9; Brunet III, 1188; Lowndes IV, p.1400; Tooley 305; Upcott p. xxxiv.
