Wrapper design, title vignette and 42 border designs by Henry Caruchet, all hand-colored, WITH AN EXTRA SUITE OF PLATES, PROOFS BEFORE LETTERS, on India paper bound in. Ivory satin, covers with silk embroidered borders displaying flowers and leaves in several hues of violet and green, similarly embroidered spine, silver patterned cloth endleaves, edges gilt, by the Club Bindery, gilt-stamp signed on front inner cover (satin partly split along front joint); cloth folding case. Provenance : Robert Hoe (bookplate); C.L.F. Robinson (bookplate); Saul Cohn (his sale, Parke Bernet, 27 April 1955, lot 535, Emil Offenbacher agent). LIMITED EDITION, number 15 of 100 copies on Japon from an edition of 300, initialed by the publisher.
