The painting at hand is thought to be from the early 19th century. The painter shows a familiarity with the portraits of Anthony van Dyck as represented by the costume and pearls which are very close to the Portrait of the Duchess of Croy in the De Young Museum in San Francisco and to the Portrait of Maria de Tassis in the Liechtenstein Collection in Vaduz.
