Manuscript recipe books. COLLECTION OF SEVEN VOLUMES, LABELLED A-G: "Eliza Berrow May 5th 1775 for Elizabeth Tymbs", an extensive collecyion of puddings, jellies, pickles, preserves, sauces, cakes, and some household remedies, 77 pages, 8vo (185 x 125mm.), three additional leaves loosely inserted, written from both ends; E. Tymbs, "Receipts for Puddings &c.", also including a number of medical prescriptions, 140 pages, 8vo (155 x 100mm.), dated 1797, marbled wrappers, wrappers almost detatched and crudely repaired, some leaves loose; Eliza Hooper, recipes for wines, puddings, cakes, preserves, "walnut catsup", meats, cheeses, pies, "Indian Burdwan", with medical prescriptions written from the reverse, 92 pages, 4to (245 x 190mm.), four additional leaves loosely inserted, dated 1807, marbled boards, cover detatched; volume of household remedies ("for chapped lips"), recipes, and notes ("Books recommended to be read by Young Men"), 41 pages, 4to (195 x 165mm.), 1850s, wrappers; printed leaves from several editions of Poole's Family Account-Book, 8vo (205 x 160mm.), 1820-1831, fastened with a paper fastener, loose in marbled boards with following item; miscellany of verses and prescriptions, 25 pages, 8vo (190 x 150mm.), later 19th century, stab-stitched paper wrappers; miscellany of school exercises, recipes ("To make a Curry the Indian Way", and prescriptions, 28 pages, 8vo (205 x 165mm.), later 19th century, fastened with a paper fastener; each volume with a modern index
