Marcel Lajos Breuer (1902-81) was a Hungarian-born architect and furniture designer and one of the masters of modernism. He was one of the first and youngest students at the Bauhaus, founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar. Breuer was first recognised for his invention of bicycle handlebar-inspired tubular steel furniture.
