"Martin" ("Ласточка") was one of the main children's magazines of the Russian emigration. It was published in Harbin, China. A few generations of young emigrants had grown up with this publication. It was published from 1926 to 1945. The magazine was sent to Japan, Germany, France, Turkey and USA—all the main countries where Russians emigrated at the time. During WWII, the magazine ceased sending issues to Europe and the USA. The magazine championed a love of reading adopting a kind, informative and witty voice without deliberate edification.
