MAURICE TABARD1897-1984PORTRAIT OF A MAN solarized gelatin silver print, signed and dated '30' in pencil on the image, the photographer's Paris studio stamp, dated '1930' in pencil, on the reverse, framed, 1930image: 9⅛ by 6¾ in. (23.2 by 17.1 cm.)framed: 20½ by 16½ in. (52.1 by 41.9 cm.)Condition ReportThis print, on heavyweight paper with a velvety matte surface, is in generally very good to excellent condition. There are deposits of original retouching throughout the image visible in raking light, including deposits in the cheeks, lips, forehead, and the eyes. There is a very faint brown stain and a diagonal crease in the lower right corner, possibly breaking the emulsion. 'Simonet [?] / Solarization / neg. / 10 [circled]' is inscribed in red ink on the reverse. There are remnants of old mounting tissue on the reverse. 'PF15617' is written in pencil in an unidentified hand on the reverse of the frame. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
