Max Ernst Georges Ribemont-Dessaignes La Ballade du Soldat , Pierre Chave, 1972 (S&L 218) the complete book comprising 34 in- and hors-texte lithographs and two vignettes in colours, 1972, on Arches, with numbering page, title page, text in English, and justification, signed in pencil by the artist and author on the numbering page, copy number 36 of 199, from the English language edition of 217 printed in 1989 (there were also 217 copies in German, and 98 in French with an additional signed suite of the lithographs), the full sheets, a deckle edge at the right, occasional pale offsetting on the text pages, otherwise generally in good condition, loose (as issued) in the original paper wrappers, with blue cloth-covered boards, the title printed on the spine, and matching slipcase, overall in very good condition (portfolio) S. 382 x 278 mm.
