Metabole tou kata Ioannou hagio evangeliou [Greek title], [Paris: Edm�e Tousan, 1541], bound after: Homer, Odysseia, [Paris: Edm�e Tousan, 1541], 2 works in 1 volume, both works printed with Greek types, Nonnus with woodcut device of Conrad N�obar to title page, Homer title leaf (a1) lacking, marginal damp-staining to a handful of quires, profuse early annotations in Greek and Latin throughout, 17th-century ownership inscriptions to Nonnus k4, and Homer a2 (shaved) and r4, later bibliographical annotation to initial blank, early calf, rebacked and recornered, scuffed, 8vo (15.4 x 9.6 cm) Adams 1898 for Nonnus (the work is a paraphrase of the Gospel of John). Sammelband of two Greek texts printed by noted woman printer Edm�e Tousan, widow of Conrad N�obar, who held the newly established post of royal French printer for Greek from 1539 until his death the following year. Tousan briefly succeeded him, publishing a handful of Greek texts before her remarriage to another printer, Jacques Bogard, in 1542. (1)
