MEURSIUS Joannes, "Miscellanea Laconica sive variarum antiquitatum Laconicarum libri IV", Amsterdam: Judocus Pluymer, 1661. First edition, Complete. pp. [4],337p.[11], engraved vignette on title and 2 engraved portraits. [BOUND TOGETHER] Meursius J., "Ceramicus Geminus sive de Ceramici Atheniensum otriusque antiquitatibus liber singularis", Utrecht, Ackersdyck, 1663. First edition, Complete. Engraved mark on title, pp.[2],96p.[4]. Splendid contemporary vellum richly decorated, a fine copy of two works of Meursius for Greece, published by Pufendorff. Ex libris of Roukens family, an important Flemish family (Willem Roukens, the initial owner, was Mayor of Nijmegen). The first work is a very detailed description of ancient and modern Lacedaimonia, the land of the Spartans, while the second work is dealing with Athens. Blackmer 1120 for the second work. Not in Atabey or Blackmer for the first one. RARE
