Middle Ages.- Shaw (Henry) Dresses and Decorations of the Middle Ages, 2 vol., additional hand-coloured lithographed title, 93 colour plates, some double-page, illustrations, gutta percha perished, contents loose, original cloth, spines browned, 1843; The Decorative Arts Ecclesiastical and Civil of the Middle Ages, 41 chromolithographed and lithographed plates, occasional spotting, upper hinge broken, contemporary morocco-backed cloth, 1851; The Encyclopaedia of Ornament, additional decorative title and 59 plates, later half calf, rubbed, William Pickering, 1842 § Wyatt (M. Digby) Notices of Sculpture in Ivory... and a Catalogue of Specimens of Ancient Ivory-Carvings in Various Collections, 9 mounted albumen photographs, original morocco-backed decorative boards, spine worn, rubbed, 1856; and 26 others, medieval and early arts, 4to & 8vo (31) ⁂ The last mentioned is the first book to include a photograph of a bookbinding.
