RFC: Personal papers, relating to employment at Rolls-Royce, Falcon erecting shop, then RFC in Egypt until 1919 and employment subsequently with George Blackburn, Atlas Works, Nottingham, to include 5 x 3.25in (13 x 9.5cm) diary 7/1918 to 26/11/1919, with description of journey to posting, several pp engine repair and travel notes, drawings etc.; white metal cigarette case 7.8 x 8.9cm convex profile, hand-decorated with Egyptian scenes, and more crudely initialled: HW/RFC/EGYPT 1918; framed full plate photograph of Wilkes and colleague in tropical kit on camels by the Sphinx, also framed portrait in tropical kit, Egyptian Christmas card, mounted photo of interior of Atlas works, numerous small photographic prints some P/Cs of scenes, in Egypt with Sqdn., including aircraft: HP V/100, Felixstowe F2, DH9 etc. (qty)
